Oh show I'm so glad you're back. If only for a little while. My day went completely (emotionally) pear-shaped earlier (don't ask, long story, don't want to talk about it) and this made me so much better.

Clouds! There are clouds! And it's only about 60. The Earth doesn't hate me after all. It's not supposed to last and is supposed to be near 90 next week, but for right now, it's cool and happy and yay!

Pancakes. Woke up, turned on the news (habit. Don't really watch, just background noise) and there was a Bisquick commercial. Not overly fond of pancakes but this morning they were the most perfect food ever.

I. Do. Not. Like. Heat.

Ugh.

Eighty-something today. In May. MAY.

Temperatures this high make me groggy, sleepy, headachy, bitchy, and generally feel like crap. I've spent most of today unconscious for lack of ability to DO anything but SLEEP fitfully because my brain is MELTING. I'm dehydrated even though I've consumed somewhere in the range of four or five liters of water. I've lost track.

Seriously, how do people survive at lower latitudes? I'm in Montana and apparently it's not far north. I prefer mid-January hypothermia and frostbite warnings to heatstroke.

Either SVU is becoming way too predictable or I'm more psychic than I thought.

Going off the grid for a couple of days to sample thermal pools in Yellowstone. If I'm lucky, it won't snow.

Life appears to violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics by creating ordered systems; however these ordered systems are the dissolution of a gradient therefore promoting entropy.

Life exists to consume and randomly redistribute energy (create entropy). Living organisms are simply nature's way of efficiently promoting entropy, thereby once again proving the Second Law inviolate.

I find this comforting.

Head's all congested and I'm getting maybe 30% hearing in my right ear but considerably more in the left.

I've tried every trick I know to clear my ears and took a decongestant. No joy.

Halp.

I might have sorta kinda fell down a few stairs today once again proving that I am my mother's daughter and my grandmother's granddaughter. Damned klutziness.

Elbow is all bruised and my tail bone is very, very tender.
